D.V.A. Productions, in Association with Indiewood Pictures, is proud to present the powerful and hard-hitting feature documentary “The Eyes of Thailand.”

“The Eyes of Thailand” is the inspirational story of one woman’s quest to help two elephant landmine survivors–Motala and Baby Mosha–walk on their own four legs. Treating their wounds was only part of the journey; building elephant-sized prostheses was another.

Told in the style of “The Cove” (2009), “Born into Brothels” (2004) and “Gorillas in the Mist” (1988), “The Eyes of Thailand” is a color, feature-length, HD documentary film that exposes the problems facing Thai Asian Elephants at the Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE) Hospital through Soraida’s quest to help them walk again. The film is Directed and Produced by Windy Borman and Produced by Tim VandeSteeg.

No other forest fire has been as influential in Oregon culture or the  history of a community. The Tillamook Burn, a forest fire of gigantic proportions, exploded on August 14, 1933. While statewide support helped  replant the forest, little was done to support a community whose livelihood was largely based on logging or to stop erosion and silt from  destroying one of the finest deep water bays in the country. Seven decades later, the effects of The Tillamook Burn are still felt.

“The Tillamook Burn” documentary was inspired by the 70th Anniversary of the Tillamook Burn. Having grown up on the Oregon coast, Windy Borman knew a different side of the story about the famed Tillamook Burn. She produced, directed, researched and wrote this documentary in 2003 in association with the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication.

New Leaders for New Schools is a national, non-profit organization that promotes high academic achievement for every child by attracting, preparing, and supporting the next generation of outstanding leaders for our nation’s urban public schools.

The Bay Area program of New Leaders for New Schools selected D.V.A. Productions to produce a promotional video that accomplished several goals: introduce the organization to the community, provide an overview of the programs’ goals, reinforce the need for new leaders with superior training in urban principal positions, and honor the principals who are making significant strides to close the education gap in the Bay Area.

Led by Windy Borman, D.V.A. Productions guided New Leaders Bay Area through the Pre-production process to establish a solid plan for Production and Post-Production. This targeted approach allowed us to produce a sophisticated, powerful and elegant promotional video in line with the New Leaders Bay Area mission.

“Wonder Mom” is a super hero action/comedy that follows Wonder Mom as  she repeatedly saves the day, all while trying to accomplish her daily  errands and conceal her secret identity.

Teach For America is a national non-profit organization that aims to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation’s most promising future leaders in the effort.

In preparation for the 2008 Bay Area Alumni Summit, Teach For America selected D.V.A. Productions to produce, write, and direct a promotional video that would use the unique story of one of its Corps  Members to inspire alumni to continue to be involved in the educational  reform movement.

Windy Borman, the Creative Director of D.V.A. Productions, worked with Teach For America to develop the seedling of their idea into a powerful, inspiring and dramatic video that set the tone of the day and renewed the audience’s passion for the Teach For America mission: One day, all children in this nation will  have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.

Women’s Health Specialists is dedicated to providing women-controlled health care and advocating for all options for all women. Their goal is to empower women through support, education, self-help and services so that they can make the best health care decisions for themselves.

Women’s Health Specialists tapped D.V.A. Productions to produce an 8-minute video in honor of their 35th Anniversary in 2010. After listening to their goals, assessing their needs, and learning about their various audiences (which range from in-class presentations to politicians and the press), Creative Director Windy Borman worked with WHS to expand the scope of the project to include five 1-2 minute video pods, which they could incorporate into their upcoming social media campaigns, as well as hand-pick their messages based on their audience.
